This weekend sees the UK’s top Youth and Under 21 Championship riders line up at Fraddon Moto Parc in Newquay for the first time at the Judd KTM British Youth National Championship Powered By Parts Europe.

We caught up with the ACU British Open Championship leader Aaron-Lee Hanson, who this year has been signed for the Judd Orange Brigade, which is the Official KTM Factory Youth Motocross Team in the UK.

RHL: How is the 2018 season going so far for you?

Aaron-Lee Hanson: “I believe that this year is going great so far with leading the Judd KTM British Youth National Championship in the Open Class. I am enjoying racing in the open class.”

RHL: You’re currently leading the Judd KTM British Youth National Open Championship with 338 points. How does that feel for you?

Aaron-Lee Hanson: “It feels good to be leading the championship and it motivates me to focus and train harder to win the Championship at the end of the season.”

RHL: Looking back to Culham, how was it for you?

Aaron-Lee Hanson: “Culham was a good weekend of racing and taking the overall win, however in the last race it was difficult riding around with my transponder stuck between my form and frame. Overall it was a good weekend to gain some more points ahead of the other riders.”

RHL: Looking ahead to Fraddon this weekend, how are you feeling, what are your plans and goals as we hit the halfway point of the British Championship?

Aaron-Lee Hanson: “I am really looking forward to Fraddon next weekend and I would like to extend my Championship lead further. I would also like to take the overall win on the weekend. This is the goal.”

RHL: This year you have been signed up to the Judd Orange Brigade, how does it feel to be riding for the official factory youth KTM UK team?

Aaron-Lee Hanson: “This year it is great to have signed for the Judd Orange Brigade, which is the Official KTM UK Factory Youth Team. All of my sponsors and supporters are amazing and all of additional help I get is much appreciated. I love my KTM 250 SX-F and I feel very comfortable and confident on the bike. Everyone at Judd Racing are very helpful and their support is great.”

RHL: Finally what are you plans going into the remaining rounds?

Aaron-Lee Hanson: “Going into the remaining rounds my plan is to extend my points lead in the Championship and win the Judd KTM British Youth National Championship Open Class for 2018.”
