Billy Bolt Set To Make HydroGarden Weston Beach Race Debut
RHL Activities are pleased to announce that Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Billy Bolt will compete in the 36th edition of the HydroGarden Weston Beach Race on October 19-21.
As one of Great Britain’s rising off-road talents, 21-year-old Bolt is rapidly making a name for himself in enduro. Competing in this year’s World Enduro Super Series, the Newcastle native sits secondoverall in the championship standings having claimed victory at the opening round of the series – Extreme XL Lagares, in Portugal. Further success came for the Husqvarna rider in 2018 with fifth at the world-famous Erzbergrodeo Red Bull Hare Scramble in Austria and fourth place at Red Bull Romaniacs — the world’s toughest hard enduro rallye.
Along with his outstanding outdoor results, Bolt also placed an incredible runner-up in this year’s FIM SuperEnduro World Championship. In his debut indoor season, Bolt secured multiple race wins and podium results as he raced to second overall.
With a strong pedigree in trials and enduro confirmed, the Husqvarna rider is excited to sample his first taste of beach racing at Weston-Super-Mare and will be a welcome addition to the wealth of world-class talent taking to the Hydrogarden Weston Beach Race start line in October.
The 36th edition of the HydroGarden Weston Beach Race takes place in Weston-Super-Mare on October 19-21.
Billy Bolt (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing):“I’m really looking forward to competing at the HydroGarden Weston Beach Race for the very first time. It’s such an iconic event and one I grew up with, but never had the opportunity to race until now. When I stood on the promenade last year watching it I decided then that I had to come and race this year. The track looked awesome, especially the start with so many riders charging down the main straight. The atmosphere is also incredible too, the whole weekend feels like a dirt bike festival of sorts, which is really cool. As it’s my first beach race I’m not carrying any major expectations into the race. I know there’s going to be a lot of world-class talent on the start line with a lot of experience in this type of racing. But that said, I do feel like I’m riding well at the moment and know that I should be able to adapt to the sandy conditions. If I can go there and give it my best shot, I’ll be happy with the outcome.”
Gareth Hockey (Director of RHL Activities):“We’re delighted to have a rider of Billy Bolt’s calibre come and race this year’s HydroGarden Weston Beach Race. He is unquestionably a very special rising talent and as such we’re looking forward to seeing him make his beach racing debut with us. With competitors like Billy coming across from a trials and hard enduro background it goes to show the importance of a race like Weston. It’s the UK’s biggest dirt bike race and the addition of Billy to our line-up of world-class talent is testament to that. We wish him all the best in what will be the 36th edition of the race.”
