Battle of the MX British Titles - 27 August 2019
FINAL ROUND JUNIOR & ADULT SHOWDOWN WITH THE BATTLE OF THE MX BRITISH TITLES EVENT
The conclusion of the Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship and the Judd KTM British Youth Championship will happen at an exciting and new two-day event ‘The Battle of the MX British Titles’, which will take place at Landrake Moto Parc on September 21st and 22nd.
This exciting racing event will mark the first time that both official ACU British Motocross Championships are run on the same weekend at the same venue. Not only does it give our up-and-coming youngsters the opportunity to learn from the best riders in the country whilst battling for their titles, which will be celebrated at the same event, it also gives race-goers and teams a better opportunity to see the future of the sport whilst enjoying a jam-packed weekend of great racing.
In addition, RHL Activities, the event organisers, have announced that whilst the two championships’ races will be the centrepiece of the event, they also plan off-track entertainment during each day and on Saturday evening to ensure it’s a fantastic family weekend. With Searle, Simpson, Walsh, Ostlund and local rider Gilbert battling for the MX1 and MX2 titles along with the best youngsters in the country competing in the Auto to Open youth, there will be a lot of bar-banging action over the two days as riders look to close their 2019 championships positively.
Plans are well underway for the event, which takes place near Saltash next month, and announcements will be made over the coming weeks.
Gareth Hockey, Director of RHL Activities
“This event is something I have wanted to do for a long time, especially since the similar event I ran back in 2009 at Hawkstone Park. With the support of the ACU and the Motocross Committee we are looking forward to the Battle of the MX British Titles weekend – it’s something aspirational for the juniors, and it also highlights the whole of our sport in one big event. The team and myself are busy working away on plans for the weekend, and further announcements will be coming soon. I can say it will be an event no-one will want to miss with the best riders in the country both adults and juniors racing for their respective titles. I hope we can then turn this into an annual event moving forwards with the ACU, as it’s really positive for the junior racers, the teams and the sport in general.”
This is going to be one event of the year you will not want to miss so for more information head over to www.rhlactivities.com
