Weston Beach Race - 4 October 2019
Gillingstool Primary School back for the 2019 Weston Beach Race Schools Day
RHL Activities is pleased that students from Gillingstool Primary School will be making the trip down to the Weston-super-Mare seafront in the lead up to the 37th Weston Beach Race, which takes place on October 18-20, for the annual Schools Day.
RHL Activities is proud of its involvement with local schools and this will be the third year running that the events company has welcomed students from Gillingstool Primary School to the beach. Both RHL and the school have worked closely together to provide the students with a first-hand aspirational view of potential careers within the racing and event industry, as they are given an in-depth insight on how the Weston Beach Race is put together. The students will enjoy a talk from industry experts, a tour of the site and will take part in a number of activities relating to the event throughout the day.
As part of an initiative to bring new people into the sport and inspire young talent, RHL Activities will welcome Gillingstool’s year six students during the build-up to the Weston Beach Race event on Wednesday October 16.
Tom Mullins – Deputy Headteacher (Gillingstool Primary School)
“We are into our third year working with the team at RHL activities and we are very thankful for their generous, educational support. When the children started back to school in September they immediately starting asking about the trip to the beach race. There is genuine excitement about this year’s VIP visit. The experience the children have impacts heavily on their learning and also gets them thinking about possible careers they may want to explore as they get older. Once again we would like to thank all the team for all of the hard work that goes into making this trip a standout moment in the school year.”
Gareth Hockey – Director (RHL Activities)
“I am pleased to be welcoming the year six students from Gillingstool Primary School back to the beach for this year’s Schools Day on the Wednesday prior to the event. We are into our third year of the partnership with the school and as a company we are keen to work with local schools to encourage youngsters into the event industry and also give many of them an introduction to the world of motorsports. RHL is proud to work with some of the industry’s best people and can offer a special insight into careers in events management and motorsport. We look forward to the school arriving at the beach where we have plenty of activities planned.”
