Evgeny Bobryshev on winning Culham
Par Homes Husqvarna's Evgeny Bobryshev started the 2021 season positive with taking the MX1 overall win at Culham for the first round of the Revo ACU British Motocross Championship Fuelled by Gulf Race Fuels.
We caught up with Evgeny following the days proceedings to get his thoughts and more ahead of Lyng.
Evgeny, congratulations with walking away with the MX1 overall at Culham yesterday. How does it feel starting the season on the top step?
"It's great to finish first round on the top step. It was mixed fillings coming to the weekend, don't know what to expect, it's normal for 1 race in the seasons. Last month we have done some testing with suspension so more or less I knew it will suit this track."
The track became very technical and tough throughout the day which made for some interesting racing. What were your thoughts on the circuit and its conditions yesterday?
"From practice we didn't change anything on the bike what makes it easy. Track was not so easy, you need to pay more attention on the lines, many choppy bumps and lots of ruts which make track super technical."
How do you feel with your performance from Culham and is there anything you want to make a change to ahead of Lyng on May 23rd?
"First race I got bad arm pump on 4th lap and I was like there we go, but I could manage it with smoother lines and finish the race. Second race I had another good start and on 2nd lap I got the lead and just concentrate on creating my lines and be smooth."
I'm sure the team are ecstatic with your results from yesterday. What is your overall comment on how Culham went for you and the team?
"The team have done good job before first round to get me comfortable now we have some bits to improve and work on it to get better. Massive thanks to them to putting good effort."
We now have two weekends off until we head to Lyng on May 23rd for the second round of the Revo ACU British Motocross Championship Fuelled by Gulf Race Fuels.
