The Weston Beach Race is one of the UK’s most iconic off-road motorsport events a wild, high-energy weekend where thousands of riders take on a brutal, ever-changing course carved into the sands of Weston-super-Mare.

Every year, the beach transforms into a purpose-built playground of towering dunes, deep ruts, and fast straights, drawing racers from first-timers to world-class pros. With multiple classes; youth, adult solo, quads, sidecars, and more the race delivers non-stop action from sunrise to sunset.

Spectators line the seafront to watch hundreds of machines charge into the opening straight, battle the elements, and fight through the sand for hours in one of the toughest endurance races out there.

It’s loud, it’s raw, and it’s a full weekend of motorsport mayhem mixed with festival energy, trade stands, entertainment, and a buzzing atmosphere.

*Separate Ladies Class within these classes. Female competitors will complete within the class and scored within the class, and within their own class. Youth 85CC and Youth 125/250 are a combined class and the ladies will be scored as such.
* Competitors over the age of 70 must have ACU approval.

Disclaimer: There is no formal minimum engine capacity, however for Health and Safety reasons all race machines must be of an appropriate capacity for the entered class. Very small capacity bikes are not permitted in classes with significantly larger or more powerful machines. Competitors must ensure their race machine meets the performance level expected within the class.

The Weston Beach Race is held on the seafront at Weston‑super‑Mare in Somerset and is among one of the iconic off road motorsport events held on the beach in the world, with a history of thousands of competitors, from bucket list to world champions. When you sign up for Weston, you’re signing up for a transformation of a beach. The race takes place on the seafront at Weston-super-Mare (postcode BS23 1AL), where, once a year the sands are reshaped into one of the toughest off-road circuits in the UK.

The track is a full-on, ~7 km (≈ 6-mile) course built from hundreds of thousands of tonnes of sand sculpted into massive, man-made dunes, deep ruts, jumps, and obstacles.

Riders launch off an epic flat-out start straight by the shoreline of this famous event, before diving into the dunes and technical sections. Those who’ve done it, describe the start as brutal, a real “all-in sprint” before the course begins to bite.

Once you hit the sand-dune zone, expect anything: shifting traction, unpredictable sand depth, variable moisture (sea-spray or wet sand), sand “holes” forming under wheels, and the course degrading over laps. The track is built to test your speed, stamina, endurance, and finesse.

Because of how the course is built (and the unpredictable October weather) tides, sand, and wind can all influence conditions. What you start on can feel totally different half way through. Expect to dig in, stay sharp, and respect the sand.

Can I park on the Beach for the 2026 Weston Beach Race?
There is parking available on the Beach, this is run by North Somerset Council. It is £14 per day per vehicle, with card and cash accepted. This is available for riders and spectators

Camping on Site

RHL Activities offers Premium Camping on the lawns in the Event Site, located at the entrance to the Event. It is in the heart of the event site. Bookings will open on the 27th March 2026.
