The 5th round of the Revo British Motocross Championship fuelled by Gulf Race Fuels made its way to one of the top venues of the British Calendar, Blaxhall Circuit in Suffolk. The team setup looked on point and with the riders looking to improve on their 2021 results where Jamie Law went 10th MX2, Martin Barr 10th MX1, and Jack Lindsay was 8th in MXY2. Unfortunately, Stuart is still recovering from wrist surgery, we wish him a speedy recovery and hope to see him before the end of the season.
Qualifying went well with the new reversed track, Martin was able to get a quick first lap in, ending up in P8. Jamie got a good first lap in too, finishing P9 at the end of the MX2 session. In Jack’s first season as a pro at Blaxhall, he took the 19th gate pick from qualifying.
MX1 Martin Barr 50
Martin didn’t get the best of jumps out of the gate in race 1, though the bike tracked well and got good drive up the start straight inside the top 10. Martin put in some solid laps making passes up to 6th place where he rode the majority of the race. By his own admission, Martin felt this was the best riding so far in the 2022 season. It was unfortunate that fatigue caught him in the last few laps, and he lost a position to finish 7th.
In race 2 Martin got a great start and was amongst the top 5 riders, though lost a few positions in the hectic initial lap to complete the first full lap in 9th place. It wasn’t long into the race that Martin had a heavy landing and immediately felt there was something right with the back of the bike. After another lap, the back brake locked on and Martin struggled to the pits to get it released. When Martin got going again, he had no back brake and was outside the points, so took the decision to DNF the race. This was unfortunate, though all part of racing, Martin finished 14th overall off a single race result. Martin is now 10th in the MX1 British Championship standings.
MX2 Jamie Law 25
After suffering from flu-like symptoms coming into the weekend, Jamie knew the weekend was going to be a struggle. The main aim was to come away from the weekend healthy with as many points as possible. In race 1 Jamie managed to get a good start and was running just outside the top 10 before moving forward to 10thover the first 4/5 laps of the race. Jamie then hit the wall with his illness and dropped 5 seconds a lap. He knew this was coming and that he would have to battle in survival mode to finish the race in the best possible position. After another few laps, Jamie had managed to hold on and got back to 11th where he rode out the remainder of the race.
In race 2 Jamie tried to go about things differently, keeping a little back for the end of the race. After some early battles with teammate Jack Lindsay, Jamie settled into 11th by the mid-point of the race to bring home 9th overall and now sits 5th place in the MX2 Revo powered by Gulf Race Fuels Championship.

In race 1, Jack didn’t get the best of jumps coming around on the first lap in 18th, though settled into a rhythm and 19th position by the mid-point of the race. Jack managed to find his pace after this and made up 6 places in 2 laps!! Unfortunately, after a marshal had waved a blue flag when it was not required and another rider managed to pass him on the last lap, Jack was happy to settle for 15th place.
At the start of race 2, Jack had a much better start inside the top 10 after missing the first turn pile-up. It was whilst trading places with teammate Jamie Law that Jack made a mistake and hit the fence after losing his back end off a jump. After dropping back by half the field, Jack managed to regain his composure and push back from 25th to 21st at the flag. It was disappointing for him, though good to see him pushing on regardless of the flag. Jack finished the day 20th overall and sits 24th in the MX2 Revo Fuelled by Gulf Race Fuels Championship.

Despite all the challenges the riders have faced this season, we’re still going racing and challenging for results. I was surprised by Jamie’s results considering how unwell he has been feeling, which goes to show he’s still pushing on for a solid finish to the season. Martin has been unlucky with his mystery illness that has affected all his season, though still managed a great result in the first race and was unlucky to DNF the second. Jack has shown a lot of promise too in his rookie year and keeps putting points on the board which is good to see from the youngster.
We are dealing with the tight schedule between the 2 major British Championships and will be taking to the road again on Friday for the MX Nationals at Cusses Gorse. Thanks to the sponsors and all the team for their continued support.
